1.Use lubricating oil of appropriate viscosity grade

For gasoline engines, API SM / CF / GF-4, SL / CF / CF-3 grades of pure gasoline engine oil should be selected according to the use conditions; for diesel engines, API CI-4 / SL, CH-4 / should be selected according to mechanical load. For SL-grade pure diesel engine oil, the selection standard is not less than the requirements specified by the engine manufacturer.

2, regularly change the oil and filter

The quality of any quality lubricant will change during use. After a certain mileage, the performance deteriorates, which will cause various problems to the engine. In order to avoid malfunctions, the oil should be changed regularly in accordance with the conditions of use, and the amount of oil used should be moderate (generally the upper limit of the oil scale is better). When the oil passes through the pores of the filter, solid particles and viscous substances in the oil are accumulated in the filter. If the filter is blocked, when the oil cannot pass through the filter element, it will burst the filter element or open the safety valve and pass through the bypass valve. It will still bring the stolen goods back to the lubricating site, which will cause the engine to wear and the internal pollution will increase.

  3.Clean fuel system regularly

When the fuel is supplied to the combustion chamber for combustion through the oil circuit, colloids and carbon deposits will inevitably be formed. It will be deposited in the oil passages and injectors and the combustion chamber, which will interfere with the flow of fuel and disrupt the normal air-fuel ratio. Poor atomization causes performance problems such as engine trembling, knocking, unstable idling, and poor acceleration. Regularly cleaning the fuel system and controlling the formation of carbon deposits can always maintain the best engine condition.

  4. Regularly replace the anticorrosive anode

The hull, main engine, and transmission system are provided with anti-corrosion anodes to protect the parts from corrosion caused by salt. Be sure to check the anti-corrosion anodes regularly. If used in salt water, the inspection frequency should be increased.

  5.Regular hull deck maintenance

Frequent cleaning and cleaning: Keep the surface of the boat clean and the deck cleaned frequently. The surface contaminated by oil and other substances can be cleaned with ordinary household cleaners. Do not use strong corrosive solvents. Do not use decontamination powder or metal wire to avoid scratches and affect the appearance. If the stain is difficult to remove, it can be cleaned with gasoline, kerosene, diesel, styrene, acetone, etc., but must be washed with water immediately after washing to prevent intrusion into the structure. You can also use a tool spatula when cleaning, but use bamboo or plastic chips with a hardness lower than FRP to avoid scratching the surface. Soft materials such as soft towels can be used for scrubbing.

Remove salt frost in time: Ships sailing in the sea area should remove salt crystals (salt frost) attached to the surface of the boat in time. Because salt crystals have the focusing effect of convex lenses in the sun, the surface glass fiber reinforced plastics will accelerate aging under high temperature.

Regular waxing and polishing: In order to brighten the surface of the hull and protect the gel coat layer, the surface of the boat should be waxed and polished regularly. Material is recommended to use yacht-specific wax. It can be applied two to three times, with a two-hour interval between each pass, to form a tough wax film on the surface of FRP. It is best to use a portable polisher to make the surface as bright as new.
